Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025 · EncodeDesk
EncodeDesk is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. Browser tools run entirely in your browser, and nothing is ever sent to our servers unless you explicitly use the API.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and (if you sign in with Google) your name and profile picture.
Usage data
When you use a tool via the API, we log which tool was used, the timestamp, and your API key ID. Browser-based tool usage is computed entirely client-side and is not logged.
Saved snippets
If you save a snippet, we store the tool slug, title, input, and optional output in our database.
Billing
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive a subscription ID and confirmation; we do not store card numbers.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve EncodeDesk, process payments, and send transactional emails (account creation, password reset). We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
Tool computation
All 238 browser-based tools run entirely in your browser. Your input data is never sent to our servers when using the browser interface. The API endpoints do process data server-side and data sent to them is used only to produce the tool output; it is not stored or logged.
Cookies
We use a session cookie (set by NextAuth.js) to keep you logged in. We use your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (du-theme). No third-party tracking cookies are used.
Data retention
Your account data is retained until you delete your account. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data including history, snippets, and API keys. You can delete your account from Dashboard → Settings → Danger zone.
