Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2025 · EncodeDesk

These are the rules governing your use of EncodeDesk. They're written to be readable, so please do read them. The short version: use the tools, don't abuse the API, pay for what you use.

Acceptance of terms

By using EncodeDesk, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including those who use the service without an account.

Service description

EncodeDesk provides 238 developer tools accessible via a web interface and REST API. Browser-based tools are free and require no account. API access requires a paid subscription and an API key.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use EncodeDesk to:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Send malicious, illegal, or harmful content through the API
  • Resell or redistribute the API service without permission
  • Use the service in any way that could damage or overload our infrastructure

API usage and rate limits

Pro plan subscribers receive 2,50,000 API calls per month. Team plan subscribers receive 12,50,000 calls per seat per month. Requests beyond these limits will receive a 429 response. Limits reset at the start of each billing cycle.

Billing and renewal

Pro and Team plans are a one-time yearly purchase through Razorpay, not a recurring subscription. There is nothing to cancel: your plan simply returns to Free when the year ends unless you renew manually. No refunds are provided for unused time on a plan. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

Disclaimer of warranties

EncodeDesk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce accurate results for all inputs. Tool output should be verified before use in production systems.

Limitation of liability

EncodeDesk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of EncodeDesk. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of jurisdiction where EncodeDesk is registered.
