What Skewness and Geometric Mean Tell You
This skewness calculator reports Pearson's second skewness coefficient, a positive value means the distribution has a longer tail stretching toward higher values, a negative value means the tail stretches toward lower values, and a value near zero means the data is roughly symmetric around its center. A dataset with no spread at all (every value identical) or fewer than three numbers reports skewness as exactly 0, since there's no meaningful asymmetry to measure. This geometric mean calculator only computes a result when every number in the dataset is positive, the geometric mean of a set containing zero or a negative number isn't a real number under the standard definition (it involves taking a root of a negative product), so that field is left blank rather than showing a misleading value.
